World Bowls Singles Ranking List Top 12 on the World Bowls website

Tables correct as at 1 January 2007

WORLD Bowls, the sport's global governing body, has initiated their first ever player ranking list .

The list is in recognition of players' achievements in the three world singles events currently staged by World Bowls, namely the World Championship, the World Cup and the "Champion of Champions" tournament, with points accrued over a four-yearly cycle.

Those appearing on the list do so by virtue of their exceptional level of performance in events that are potentially open to all bowlers participating in the sport throughout the world, not solely to those belonging to a particular association or Tour.

Gary Smith, Chief Executive of World Bowls said; "This is another step forward in us bringing the sport on to a global basis as well as recognising those who have performed at the highest level over a number of years in what are the top events in the sport.

"We would hope to add other events - which would meet our criteria - to the list in the future, thus giving even more scope for players across the globe to feature in our World Rankings List, which are governed by performance rather than location.
