Fun Day

the 2nd April saw an event to raise funds to cover expenses for Nick Coles &
Lyn Metcalf's visit to the World Championship in Australia where they will be
representing Spain. Visitors from most of the clubs on the Costa del Sol turned up
to enjoy this fun day of bowls. Play started with a fund raising
"Spider" with more spiders between sessions. (left - the

 All
eight rinks were put into play due to the number of players, the first eight
ends played as normal rinks. The second session of eight ends were
played as ?, the final session of 8 ends were played as a
"Yardstick", all bowls within a yard of the jack counted for 1 point,
good practice for laying up. (right - the winning team

very ample buffet was provided by the host club, with additional fund-raising
stalls selling 2nd hand books and a tombola stall with many prizes. The Tombola stall alone raised
over 300.00 euros.
The final days fund-raising figure was in excess of 2600.00 euros.
A big, big thank you to all of those who took part, provided
the food and manned the stalls.
